QotD: Survey Says
When you were younger, were there any game shows that you religiously watched and wanted to be a contestant on?
Hey, look, my first post and it's answering one of these adorable questions of the day. But yes, there was such a game show. Still is. Jeopardy. I still dream of being a contestant on same; it's just that the touring contestant bus comes out here so rarely, and I am NOT flying to California on my own dime to try out anytime soon. But seriously? I would OWN on Jeopardy. I could take Ken Jennings. When I was a little kid I would watch it every night. Even at my grandparents' house, I'd watch it; it was pretty much the only TV show we ever agreed on. And this I swear to you, Internet; if I ever get on Jeopardy, I will, at some point, buzz in and say, "Because I hate you, Trebek." He'll understand.
Comments
I used to love watching Jeopardy. A few years ago there was a local college student on, and the week she was I was walking down the street and saw her. I had missed the night before and said something like I was enjoying watching and wondered how she would do that night. They had mixed up the order of the shows so the one they had showed the night before had her losing. So she looked at me like I was a nut.
From personal (painful) experience I can tell you this -- everyone goes into Jeopardy thinking that they'll kick butt and take names and be the one who breaks the records.
Two people walk off that stage having done exactly the opposite.
Jeopardy has always frustrated me, sometimes I know the answer but completely space out :p
I think you would totally kick ass on there. :)
